About this listen

A Touch of Darkness from Hades' POV (with new scenes)!

Hades, god of the underworld, is known for his inflexible rule, luxurious night clubs, and impossible bargains. Used to control, he is not prepared to discover the Fates have chosen his future wife and queen - Persephone, goddess of spring.

Despite her attraction to the god, Persephone, an ambitious journalism student, is determined to expose Hades for his cruel and ruthless ways.

Hades finds himself faced with the impossible - proving his future bride wrong. Regardless of his efforts, there are forces who wish to keep the two apart, and Hades comes to realize he will do anything for his forbidden love, even defy fate.

Contains mature themes.

This story was better than Persephone's POV. We still got to swe some of her story again, but with a bunch of extra, mate material, God's politics and drama. Plus we also get a lot of spice too. There are many Hades only scenes and I loved them, they allowed us to discover Hades many side hustles.
It was fun for sure.

I love this idea of hearing the story from Hades perspective, it really fleshes out the combined story. It’s nice to have answers to some of the questions I had.
The only problem was the narration! It was absolutely awful! Comparing this narration to that of Meg Sylvan, (who narrates book one) is like night and day. I’m not even half way through, and I’m actually scared for the fruity scenes I know are to come. This guy sounds like a robot! It’s like listening to a bored 70 yr old librarian reading an educational tome! I can imagine that the scenes which Meg made exciting and sensual and thrilling will sound like having an awkward birds and bees chat with an elderly teacher. I genuinely don’t know if I’ll be able to stand it! I think I may just have to read the book rather than listen. I think it will be about as sensual as a pencil.

Hades perspective fab idea

I liked Hades POV after listening to Touch of Darkness from Persephones. I liked that, with it being from Hades POV, you got to see lots more of the gods and how they all interacted with one another.
I didnt like the voice acting as much in this one. I had to do x1.3 speed for it to be bearable speed. I felt it was read very monotonally which took away from the story.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed the book, but the narrator who read the the rest of the series would have been a better option.

narrator kindof ruins this.
