Downloaded on a whim and really enjoyed it. The murder story in my opinion took second place. Instead a lot of focus was on the historical fiction, the juxtaposition of rich and poor, the charming group of Poppy and her friends. I really enjoyed it!! And the narration was first class. She did an amazing job doing different accents.

Loved this - charming and well paced

Thoroughly enjoying those novels. If you like old fashioned mysteries that are gripping, but don’t scare the heck out of you, that’s one to enjoy. I also liked that there was more of a romantic angle, than in the last story. Really enjoy the series. Thank you to the author.

Enjoyable stories with historical base

Book three of the Poppy Denby series & it doesn’t disappoint. In fact it may be my favourite yet & I am already looking forwards to the next book in the series.
This story, The Death Beat moves along at a pace & builds momentum to its conclusion. I would also add that the narration is excellent & really helps brings the characters alive in my mind.
Highly recommended.
