A heart-warming tale of office life, homicide and biscuits, which was longlisted for the Bath Novel Award 2017… Jonathon Fairfax, the world’s most socially awkward hero, works for a giant corporation where he specialises in muttering ‘um’ and tripping over bins. When he accidentally discovers a colossal corporate conspiracy, it soon becomes clear that someone will do anything to keep it a secret – including murder. Listen to this audiobook on its own or as a follow-up to The Perpetual Astonishment of Jonathon Fairfax – a bestseller that was shortlisted for the Bath Novel Award 2014.
"It’s funny, it’s daft-yet-relatable, it’s still a nerve-jangly thriller and it moves at a cracking pace. In fact, if you’re stuck in a bit of a reading rut, it’s just the palate cleanser you need.” Emerald Street

I am so smitten with these books. Lovely story, fabulous narration. Genuinely funny and utterly charming.
Delighted to see the author is writing a 3rd book. Just wish he'd get a wiggle on. If Finlay doesn't narrate that one too ... well, I will sulk.

More please!

I really enjoyed following the accidental exploits of the Johnathan Fairfax character, the characterisation of his compatriots in “crime” and the humour in their exploits together. The story telling reminds me of the Vinyl detectives series which I also really enjoyed

Great story brilliantly characterised

Warning! Do not listen to this book in public, people around you will stare at you as if you are insane because you keep bursting into laughter every few seconds. Anyone for whom life is perfect might not agree and find Jonathon Fairfax a ludicrous creation with absolutely no connection to reality. For the rest of us, we will recognize him and his world immediately. I listen to a lot of books and few of them engage me and make me want to keep on listening as much as this did. Hilariously (and I really mean that overused word) funny and also containing some great elements of genuine suspense. And then there's Finlay Robinson, who manages to interpret and deliver every word perfectly and with a rare sense of comic timing which makes him an absolutely essential part of the Jonathon Fairfax experience.
