I had forgotten how wonderfully parodic this story lampooning the secret world is. What is even more surprising though is the extremely hot water Greene found himself with his old masters after publication. One can’t help but think that Le Carre’s later Panama Tailor draws heavily on Our Man in Havana, and although bleaker, is none the worse for that. Superbly narrated by Jeremy Northam

Narrator was brilliant. Ace story with wit and intrigue intertwined. Sadly film version was not but enjoyed seeing Cuba as it was in 1950s

I thought I no longer really liked fiction Audiobooks, but thought I’d give this one a go. I was not disappointed.

I think I enjoyed the book more because I didn’t really know what the premise was, other than recognising that it was about a foreign intelligence service’s “man in Havana” from the title, so I won’t give too much away in my review.

This is the second Graham Greene novel that I’ve listened to using audible and I really devoured it. Admittedly it hasn’t translated well in current times due to some of the less favourable language times used, however, looking past that I could really picture myself working in an agency in Havana.
