NOW A MAJOR TV DRAMA, STARRING EMILY WATSON AND DENISE GOUGH
Connie has woken up in a psychiatric hospital. She's been accused of a terrible crime, but she says she can't remember a thing.
Forensic psychiatrist Dr Emma Robinson is assigned to the case. Her assessment will determine Connie's fate: prison, life in hospital - or freedom.
Emma hopes the high-profile case will make her career but their sessions quickly become a cat-and-mouse game of manipulation and exploitation.
Emma must get close enough to her patient to uncover the truth. But when dealing with someone as potentially dangerous as Connie, how close is too close?

FANTASTIC!! The best book I've listened too
This book was awesome, the narrator for Connie was PERFECT, the book had me laughing one minute and crying the next. Never before has this sort of story been told and I loved every minute. I couldn't stop listening to it. Honestly get this book and you won't regret it!

Fantastic Book...And I’m VERY Picky!
I loved this book. The storyline is harsh and could have been depressing but the book is full of humour and is brilliantly narrated, so at times it’s laugh out loud funny and ultimately uplifting. Definitely worth a credit and Connie is perhaps the best narration I’ve heard. Excellent!

Unusual, powerful story.
This is a novel story (no pun intended). It’s essentially the account of one woman’s mental illness, her experiences and her actions. It’s very well written and quite compelling. As someone who worked in mental health services for decades, I can also say it is accurate. The ending was really satisfying. The narration was excellent.

OUTSTANDING!!!!
This has to be, THE best book I have listened to on Audible to date and I am sure I must have shares in the site due to the amount of books I go through.
I love love love the voice of Connie, her sense of humour and wit is amazing, if she was a real person I'd want to be her friend!!
This book made me laugh (all you Connie) and brought a tear to my eye on many occasions. I cannot wait to read Natalie's next book!
The drive home tonight will not be the same without listening to this story, I loved it when Connie did the voice of her Daughter reading the Diary, had me in absolute stitches.
Hand on heart, I was soooo sad for the book to come to an end today, knowing I will not feel a part of the lives of Connie and Emma : (

Incredible
I listen to a book a week but to date have not felt compelled to leave a review. The book however MUST receive the accolade it is due! It is marvellous. Witty, dark, thought-provoking, enchanting...credit to both the author and the narrator!!! Delivered with such ownership of the narrative and characters. Outstanding ⭐️

I have never written a review before but this book is exceptional, the narration is outstanding. The topic, the discussions are not easy to hear but yet I couldn’t put it down. A truly thought provoking book, thank you
