About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Should we believe in God? In this new book, written for a new generation, the brilliant science writer and author of The God Delusion, explains why we shouldn’t.

Should we believe in God? Do we need God in order to explain the existence of the universe? Do we need God in order to be good? In twelve chapters that address some of the most profound questions human beings confront, Dawkins marshals science, philosophy and comparative religion to interrogate the hypocrisies of all the religious systems and explain to readers of all ages how life emerged without a Creator, how evolution works and how our world came into being.

For anyone hoping to grapple with the meaning of life and what to believe, Outgrowing God is a challenging, thrilling and revelatory listen.

this maybe a better title, I really liked the book, and have enjoyed the past books.

A little concerned this simplifies and rehashes old work, but I guess if there wasnt a god, there still isnt a god, so not much in new material can be introduced.

The quality of the recording seemed to be lacking, either richard dawkins had a sore throat or a lack of quality.

It did seem to improve when he got into the middle section of the book.

Overall, a great book for newcomers and the next generation to get into.

4 stars due to quality of recording and duplicated work in other books.

I've been looking for a way to introduce some of my students to atheism and this is a great way to go. Perfect for young people who don't accept religion but don't know how to articulate their disbelief. Great to hear it in Dawkins' own voice.

Great for Teens

This book doesn't help you with overcome God Psychologically. Dawkins provides arguments for atheism. His arguments are well structured and brief. In many ways he is explaining in fewer words, arguments found in other of his books. However, you are encouraged to think for your self and that is the first and initial step in overcoming God or anything for that matter. He provides scientific thinking over superstition and scripture. Narration was on point and by the man himself. I really liked this brief book but since I already am an atheist, it didn't rapture my whole world view. I would however recommend this to someone that is interested in atheism.

Great ideas explained plainly

Religion has been responsible for so much death and suffering in the world it's past time we realised that and started believing in science rather than myths and ancient legend. Dawkins, in his usual manner tells it like it is, sadly that ruffles feathers in the religious camp but as they say, often the truth hurts. Excellent book 👌

Let's hope it opens the eyes of the blind
