Wonderful and Beautiful
I could listen to Dawn French all day and to hear her read this story too me as I do my mundane jobs around the house and trudge backwards and forwards to school, has made this week much more pleasant. Thank you Dawn! I love how Dawn writes a family, (who from the outside could be so judged for their makeup), with such love and affection. Made me think about what truly is a full life, made me feel even more comfortable about my own pot noodle family. Beautifully written x

Breathtakingly beautiful!!!
Words escape me to describe how beautiful this book is. It’s taken me on a rollercoaster of emotions, conflicted feelings, my heart bled with tears and my cheeks ached as I cried so hard at the end but it was the right end as painful as this was. Powerful, written with humour and sensitivity balanced, read by someone I thought was a funny comedienne, but who I now believe is a truly talented author and narrator. Thank you Dawn French

Listen and don't read!
I made the mistake some years back of reading a Dawn French book and I didn't enjoy or get it. Someone recommended that I listen to it as it is narrated by her - wow what a difference, so from then on I have always listened to Dawns work. She brings it to life much better with her voice than it is written on the page and you get to really understand the characters she has created. So my advice to avid Dawn French fans like myself, get Audible and download it!

A beautiful and unique story, with wonderful narration. Explores the complexities of family relationships from original and controversial angles, with amusing and heartfelt moments throughout and an unpredictable, heart-wrenching ending! Thoroughly recommend.
