Amber is trapped - by her father's rules, by his expectations, by her own fears.

Now she's ready to fight - for her mother, for her sister, for herself.

Critic reviews

A compelling and emotive verse novel about a young girl defining her place in the world which sensitively explores themes of bullying and domestic abuse . . . a powerful read.

Absolutely loved this powerful read, so nuanced, so real. Amazing. I loved the way the bullying aspect was dealt with, it offered such an important perspective.

Excellent

This book is such a fascinating insight into growing up in a controlling, abusive family. Subject matter is subtly and deftly handled by the writer. I read the hard copy but loved audio version even more. Not a bum note in this performance. Highly recommend.

I loved this book and narration.
