About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

This Penguin Classic is performed by Saul Reichlin, known for their roles in War and Peace and Miss Marple. This definitive recording includes an introduction by R.J. Hollingdale, also read by Saul Reichlin.

Nietzsche was one of the most revolutionary thinkers in Western philosophy, and Thus Spoke Zarathustra remains his most influential work. It describes how the ancient Persian prophet Zarathustra descends from his solitude in the mountains to tell the world that God is dead and that the Superman, the human embodiment of divinity, is his successor. With blazing intensity, Nietzsche argues that the meaning of existence is not to be found in religious pieties or meek submission, but in an all-powerful life force: passionate, chaotic and free.

This is the best way to experience this monumental book. Narrator is exceptionally good and it feels like Zarathustra himself is speaking to me. This is a must listen/read!

Perfection!

Amazing book that really sees into the fact that
The author had to create his superhero within his own world to express his philosophy

Easy listen, full of atheist or agnostic “self-acquired & invented wisdom” (haha)
Not recommended to those with newfound faith unless you’re reborn and left in no doubt, in which case will has been dissected among other human traits in Stoic philosophy.
Isn’t it funny how man’s perception and belief can alter with age and experience yet still think he knows everything about the universe and creation?
Wisdom was the first creation and the universe is run by its rules, human wisdom is patient, mobile and subtle and can engulf you only after your ego is destroyed, Then true wisdom will shine through you and uses you as an example.
Does little Messi know what makes him a Great Footballer or does his talent shine

I have seen many whose parents were strict Christians rebel against God because they found the gaps in the New-Testament and the way it’s been written, but to give Fredrich, the author, the title of a great philosopher when he is really claiming credit for an existing philosophy is to encourage an “Ass” to bread.

Beautifully articulate translation and narration which feeds the ego
