The gripping No. 1 Sunday Times crime thriller from the author of The Good Daughter and the North Falls series

Watch Will Trent on Disney+!

He watches.

A woman runs alone in the woods. She convinces herself she has no reason to be afraid, but she’s wrong. A predator is stalking the women of Grant County. He lingers in the shadows, until the time is just right to snatch his victim.

He waits.

A decade later, the case has been closed. The killer is behind bars. But then another young woman is brutally attacked and left for dead, and the MO is identical.

He takes.

Although the original trail has gone cold – memories have faded, witnesses have disappeared – agent Will Trent and forensic pathologist Sara Linton must re-open the cold case. But the clock is ticking, and the killer is determined to find his perfect silent wife….

Pretty terrible over acted narration. Spoilt things for me. Next time I'll stick to just reading Karin Slaughter.

disappointing narration.

As always with Karin Slaughter, the book was really enjoyable. However I didn't think the narrator had the vocal range for some of the male characters, Nick and Daryl being an example. I found them very annoying and because of this it didn't flow for me. I didn't like Lena's voice either but maybe I am being too picky. If you love this series you won't be disappointed.

Good book shame about the narrator

Narrator's various voices were excruciating. I finished it because I know Karin Slaughter's stories are worth it.

Ridiculously acted voices

I love the series of Will Trent stories, and whilst I appreciate that Karin Slaughter's writing style is more graphic than most, there were parts of this I somewhat struggled with, but not surprising due to the subject matter. I would say that I felt Will and Sarah's relationship progression took a backseat for the majority of the book, even though the storyline was introduced to put a potential wedge between the two, it was very secondary to the main plot, added for tension, but felt a little facile. In regards to audio presetnation, narrator was ok, but found the male voices detracted, but suspect I would have also struggled the other way if a male was narrating the female voices, the downside of audio books unfortunately!!

Book Contains Dark Storyline, But With Empathy

Such a good book, yet again! I was dreading starting my commute again after furlough and this kept me wanting to get in my car and stay there! The characters were as complex as they always have been and felt like my old friends. The plot was so in-depth and detailed that I didn’t know which part would become unwrapped first- a gruelling set of murders where the assailant proved to not be the one incarcerated , as the GBI team thought. Can’t wait for the next book.

Kept me on my toes and wanting more
