Born talking – my mum said so it must be true! – I’ve been telling stories ever since. I’ve been writing books for children for forty years, inspired by my children, grandchildren and young readers in schools - and still do. My new adventure is writing for grown-ups. My first novel The Widows’ Wine Club, a comic romance came out in 2023 and sales of the series have topped 100,000. Right from the start readers loved sweary Viv, straight-laced Janet, and glamorous Zelda — three widows who become wine-loving friends. Widows on the Wine Path followed, then Widows Waive the Rules and number four, The Widows' Book Club is out on February 11 2026, available from Amazon now! Read or listen to any or all of the series for uplifting heart-warming stories about women's friendship and the ups and downs of love in later life. I still write for children — Cheeky Chick (Boxer Books) and Poonami came out in 2024 - and classics like Big Red Bath, Class Two at the Zoo, and my Time Travelling Cat series remain firm favourites.
