Tom Heehler is an American writer, aphorist, and children's book author, best known for his reference work and style guide, The Well-Spoken Thesaurus (Sourcebooks, 2011). Its long-awaited workbook companion, "To Speak with an Ivy League Tongue," is slated for a January 2026 release. His next book, The Coterie of Smooth-Talking Cats: Diction Fiction for College-Bound Children, is set for a summer of 2027 release, to be followed by "That Which Does Not Kill You, Really Wears You Down: 52 Snarky Proverbs for 52 Snarky Mondays." He makes his home in the sleepy hamlet of Lolo, Montana.
