Sophie Jackson began her career as a freelance writer in 2003 and has written five history books and numerous articles for UK and US magazines. She has also been published in various fiction anthologies and was long-listed for the Asham Award 2011.
Sophie specialises in social history and tries to bring the past alive for her readers.
In 2012 her first historical crime series was published by Red Raven Publications under the name Evelyn James. The Clara Fitzgerald Mysteries are set just after the First World War and explore the difficulties of being a female detective in 1920s Britain.
