Rickey Laurentiis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is the recipient of a 2012 Ruth Lilly Poetry Fellowship, a 2013 Creative Writing Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a 2014 traveling fellowship from the Civitella Ranieri Foundation in Italy, and a Lannan Fellowship & Whiting Award both in 2018. In 2025, they longlisted for the National Book Award. She is the author of two books & other work appears widely.
