Malene Rydahl is a Franco-Danish author, international keynote speaker, executive coach, and specialist in trust, empathy, and human relationships.
Born in Denmark and based in France for nearly thirty years, she began her career in the corporate world, where she spent eighteen years working in demanding international environments. For nine years, she served as Corporate Communications Director for Hyatt Hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Following her corporate career, she turned her focus to executive coaching, teaching and writing. A graduate of the Manning Inspire coaching school in Copenhagen, she has worked for many years with senior executives and executive committees from major French and international organisations. She was notably a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
Malene Rydahl teaches at Sciences Po Paris and also lectures at the French National Police Academy (École nationale supérieure de la police – ENSP). She also serves as a Specialist Reserve Police Commissioner. These different roles inform her work on trust, responsibility, discernment, empathy, and the quality of human relationships in particularly demanding environments.
She is the author of four books. Her first, Happy as a Dane (Heureux comme un Danois, Grasset, 2014), explores key aspects of Danish society and was awarded the Prix du Livre Optimiste and translated into twelve languages. She subsequently published Le Bonheur sans illusions (Flammarion, 2017), later reissued as Les 5 Pièges du Bonheur, Je te réponds… moi non plus (Flammarion, 2020), on human relationships, and L’empathie, ça s’apprend (Presses de la Cité, 2024).
Her work on empathy has also led her to become involved in education. Alongside other contributors, she participated in the development of initiatives aimed at introducing empathy education in French schools, ahead of its progressive rollout across the French education system.
Drawing on more than twenty-five years of experience across the corporate world, executive coaching and teaching, Malene Rydahl developed the MR Method®, a structured and pragmatic approach to developing human and relational skills. Today, she works with organisations in France and internationally through keynote speeches, Masterclasses and executive advisory and coaching.
Deeply connected to her Danish roots, Malene Rydahl is a Goodwill Ambassador for the City of Copenhagen and a Knight of the French Order of Arts and Letters (Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres).
