Kevin Dettmar is W. M. Keck Professor of English and Founding Director of The Humanities Studio at Pomona College. He has written or edited a half-dozen books on modernist literature and contemporary popular music; his cultural criticism has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The New York Times, and other venues. He is the author of Is Rock Dead? and Gang of Four's ENTERTAINMENT! in the 33 1/3 series, and editor of The Cambridge Companion to Bob Dylan. He is newest book, Punk in 50 Pieces: Punk Rock, Post-Punk, New Wave, and the Five Years that Changed Pop Music Forever, will be published in September by Harper / HarperCollins.
