Frances Rivetti is a British-American independent journalist and author whose fiction has earned multiple national indie awards, including a Gold Medal from the Independent Publisher Book Awards. A Sonoma County, California resident since the early 1990s and former newspaper columnist, Floating in the Middle is her third novel set along Northern California's coast, exploring how environmental changes affect tight-knit communities. She is also the author of Fog Valley Crush and Fog Valley Winter, a two book non-fiction series about the pioneer culture and food history of coastal Sonoma and Marin Counties. She is the mother of three grown sons and lives in the Gold Rush era city of Petaluma with her husband, Timo and the family's much-loved rescue pets.
