Carlota Santos is a visual artist, illustrator, architect, and writer. Her work is characterized by a symbolic and narrative language that blends tradition and iconography with a feminine, personal, and timeless sensibility. Throughout her early books, she explored imaginaries connected to astrology, magic, tarot, and mythology, building a distinctive visual universe recognized for its aesthetic richness and narrative voice. In 2024, her conversion to Catholicism marked a profound turning point in both her life and her work. Since then, her practice has redirected that same symbolic impulse toward an exploration of the sacred, faith, and Christian tradition, culminating in the publication of Santas in 2026. At the same time, she continues to explore other themes that have always been present in her work, such as opera, ballet, literature, classical mythology, history, theatrical costume, and medieval legends. Although her early work engaged with imagery and languages drawn from esotericism and mysticism, the artist now distances herself from practices of occultism, magic, and divination, and encourages her readers to seek the Good, the True, and the Life through Christ.
