Alexander Norman is a UK based writer who specialises in the history and culture of Tibet and in the history and practice of flight. Educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and at the University of Oxford, he was a Captain in the 17th/21st Lancers before turning to journalism. It was his privilege to work with the Dalai Lama as ghost-writer of the Tibetan leader's autobiography, FREEDOM IN EXILE and of his spiritual manifesto, ETHICS FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM. He has since written an acclaimed history of the Dalai Lama institution and a biography of the Dalai Lama which has been translated in 13 languages. His most recent book is CAPTAIN DE HAVILLAND'S MOTH.
