Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden are the narrating team and a better casting could not have been made. Mitchell portrays Teagan as the strong, spunky woman she is with a brokenness underlies her heart. Perfect inflections, she creates an amazing character. Arden is the men, and brings each one alive with a specific voice. Accent, arrogance, playboy qualities, shyness, he finds each nuance of the men and fits their personalities with warmth. I enjoyed these two as always and will watch for more from them.

This is the first book by Penny Crane that I have listened to, and I really enjoyed it, especially the dual-narration style. The storyline is very good and well-written, and I thought that Maxine Mitchell was the perfect voice for the female character. Joe Arden was wonderful, as ever. His Scottish accent isn’t great, but (to my ear, at least) wasn’t so bad as to make it intolerable. In comparison to the other couple, throuple, quadrouple - and this quintouple (I’m just making up words, now!) storylines that I’ve listened to previously, the level of spice and BDSM builds as the story progresses, and could prove too much for those of a coyer or less open-minded disposition. Also, despite the open mention of adult themes in the blurb (SPOILER ALERT) I do wonder whether there should be a trigger warning because of the mention of historic r*pe and child m*lestati*n.

Y'all. This audiobook? It was absolute perfection! This storyline is absolutely gripping. I fell hard for Teagan(Lavender). That girl is strong! She has been through the wringer, thanks to her parents, but she stayed so strong! I loved her rebellious, bratty side! And, when she's bid on At a charity auction & not one, but FOUR insanely hot men bid on her? Oh how Penny Crane amped up the heat! Watching Alex, Ben, Colin & Mac absolutely fall for her? It was the best time! I literally devoured this book/audiobook in record time!

Speaking of the audio.....𝑀𝑎𝑥𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑀𝑖𝑡𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙 made the best Teagan/Lavender! She brought out all the emotions and nailed it! And, 𝐽𝑜𝑒 𝐴𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛? In his trademark fashion, his performance was stellar! He flawlessly voiced each one of the guys and it was so fun! These two narrators were epically paired and delivered a captivating performance!

This why choose book has just made it on to my favorites list as well as being one I will turn to again & again. The chemistry is phenomenal, the heat hits in all the right places and the characters are simply unforgettable!

Lavender's Men Are Swoony!

Penny Crane is a new to me author and I'm so glad I listened to this book!!

This has some of my favourite tropes why choose and brother best friends.

I love how Lavender has such a unique bond with each of the guys and it was so beautifully developed. Each of the guys provides her with something different that she seeks in the relationship.

Maxine Mitchell plays Lavender and I couldn't imagine anyone better she nailed her sarcastic remarks and nailed delivering the comedic lines and brought the emotion and it just such an example of why I love her narration.

Joe Arden plays each of the guys and it's a lesson in showing how amazing he is with delivering the different voices for each guy and you know who is who. I loved his portral of each of the guys and the way each other guys personality really came through.
