About this listen

Indulge in a multi-mega cast of 8 narrators!

Three sexy vampires haunt my dreams, and they love to make me scream. For all the right reasons.

A dark TikTok-viral vampire romance with heart-pumping spice and suspense like you've never read before!

The nightmares started on Monsters Night. I figured my overactive libido was just tripping out because of all the monsters on the news. Some portal opened up, and they were terrorizing humans in particular.

But seriously, who hasn’t thought about that monster under the bed in a sensual light? There’s just something about danger, about fangs, about long tongues…So, I let the dreams happen. I invite them in.

But one night, when I open my eyes and they’re literally feasting on me... I realize it’s no dream.

This is real.---"Get off me!" I scream, not because it doesn't feel good what the one with an unnaturally long tongue is doing, but because this was supposed to be a dream.

"Not a chance, sigil."

Why do they always call me that?

I move to push the one between my legs away, but I realize I can't. My muscles don't comply.

Red eyes glow at my right. Eyes that belong to a face crafted by a master sculptor, but his fangs dripping with my blood suggest he's anything but a benevolent being. "You're far too delicious to release now. Plus, you invited us into your mind. You told us to play."

Yes, but that had been when this was all a fanciful dream full of forbidden desires.

I opened my mouth to say as much, but the creature on my right groaned at the sight. "Yes, open that mouth wide, our sigil. We're starved for more of your screams."

Their Blood Queen is a standalone paranormal romance with monstrous vampires that feed on blood and dreams from their chosen mate.

The audiobook was done brilliantly! Great cast, great characters, the audiobook 100% made this book better. I really wanted to love this more because I was super excited for Cain's story. I love the idea of this world.

This is a standalone in a shared world. You don't need to have read any other books in the series to enjoy this one. Just dive right in!

Scarlett's family is running out of money, so she is forced to enter an arranged marriage contract with a family with questionable morals.

Most of the interactions between the fmc and mmc's unfold within a dream world, and all of their interactions are very steamy as she lets go of her inhabitions, believing herself to be in a dream. Scarlett spends more 'awake' time with the villan than the MMC's, who only physically meet her towards the end of the book. I would have liked to have seen more of Sabre & Cage they took a back seat to Cain for sure.

The author does a great job building the world, although it sometimes felt like too much world to learn for a standalone, but probably made more sence if you are reading others from the same world (I haven't yet). The story mixes Recency style social classes and monsters with vampire tendancies, sounds bizarre, but the unique mix worked really well.

I listened to this book on audio with a duet cast of 8 narrators, that is definatley the most I've come across but it worked so well to have different narrators for all them main character voices, it really pulled you into the story so much more.

I loved the 3 bonus updates at the end. They hint that there is more to come but also show how Scarlett and her monsters are getting along.

- PNR monsters
- RH (MM, MMFM)
- Romantasy / dream realms

What a cast - the audiobook is a solid recommend from me as I love all of these narrators. Zara Hampton-Brown is great as the wide eyed Scarlett who is ready to sacrifice everything to help her mother and Shane East is the perfect growly Apex Alpha, Cain.

The narration really made the book for me as although I did enjoy the world building and the courting customs which were a unique idea, I struggled a little with the characters. Scarlett was a good FMC; I liked how she quietly started embracing her darkness rather than being a total damsel waiting to be rescued. Cain was definitely the most developed of the leads while Sabre and Cage felt a little tacked on and I didn't feel that connection as much as I did with Cain: I could easily have seen this as an M/F to be honest. I loved Sabre and Cage's relationship as well as their backstory but felt they were almost an adjacent plotline separate to Scarlett's as they didn't spend a lot of on page time together. I felt I knew more about Edward's character overall; his plotline was one of my favourites as this was a really good twist on the arranged marriage trope. I was rooting for him (until I wasn't) but his mother was awful. Her scene with Scarlett towards the end was hard to listen to and I was surprised that it wasn't revisited towards the end as it was brutal.

The bonus epilogues have set up the next book and although these are standalone stories, they are interconnected with some cameos from other characters. I'd like to go back and read book one as although it didn't lessen my engagement, I wanted to know more about the ones I did meet.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
