Events seem to sabotage the alliance as the Alfar leader kidnaps an imperial, the daughter of the wealthiest landholder in Arianthem. Raine is baffled by the strange actions of the elven noblewoman, actions that bring the entire land to the brink of war. The concord truly unravels when Skye, the young leader of the Tavinter, manifests magical abilities and unintentionally attracts monumental evil. Raine’s only hope is that her dragon lover will return from the Empty Land before all is lost and the evil that stalks Skye comes for her.

This is another fantastic episode in this epic magic journey. Magic is unleashed and novices need to be taught restraint and evil still lurks in an attempt to get a foothold in this land. ✨
I do enjoy this series and how the characters progress in society and training in fighting and sexual prowess. 🌶

Addictive listening, the writing and narration is excellent ! The story is unfolding and is reminiscent of those adventures that Tolkien made famous and enduring , (although I wish The First Scholar had not been named Gimli I can't get passed the Dwarf in those tales that J.R.R. wrote so graphically about )!
