About this listen

From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Giana Darling comes an angst-ridden, erotic romance between a taken man and the exotic beauty who enraptures him….

Is a week of passion enough to warrant changing my life forever?

He was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen. An enigmatic French businessman with red hair, blue eyes, and an intensity that stirred something deep inside me that hadn’t yet been awoken. I wanted him instantly. And for some reason, he seemed to want me too.

Only, he wasn’t mine to have.

He was older, wiser, and infinitely richer, with a sophisticated girlfriend back home and no time for a holiday affair. But that was exactly what he proposed—a seven-day, no-strings-attached, illicit affair on the warm, sultry shores of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

I was innocent, naïve in the ways of men, but I didn’t care. I had to have him regardless of the consequences, even if it meant losing my heart in the process.

I love that Giana included a book series that actually goes to this taboo topic. She did a great job! I was hooked right from the start and only came up to breathe for the next book!

I have read The Affair previously a few years ago now and I enjoyed it then. However the audio improved the story that little bit more. I really enjoyed Charlotte's performance, she is a new to me narrator and I think she did a wonderful job bringing the characters of Elle and Sinclair to life.

Elle is a demure woman an artist and meets a mysterious Frenchman on her plane journey to Mexico. The story maintains an air of mystery around this man for a good portion of the book, only revealing tid bits of information here and there. Sinclair is drawn to Elle and vice versa and they agree to have a holiday affair despite knowing that Sin does in fact have a long term girlfriend at home. I enjoyed the ease of which Elle and Sinclair naturally fell into their Dom and submissive relationship. I like the clever ways that Giana was able to give enough information about these two characters to form a connection but not enough to give anything massively revealing away.

Despite knowing how this trilogy plays out having read it before, I am excited to dive into the next audio book to see if my enjoyment continues.

A great start to the trilogy

This is an amazing book and captivated me from page 1. Although this is #1 of a trilogy, you can actually read it as a standalone but I'm now diving into #2 as I need to know more!

If cheating is not your thing, then this may not be for you. I can confirm, however,  that the cheating is not between the MCs and you never meet the cheated party.

It is about Elle, an innocent 24 year old  painter, who meets Sinclair (31 year old Sin by name and sin by nature) on a flight to Mexico where she's going on a week's vacation. He offers her the opportunity of a week's affair with no names, details or strings attached and she accepts!

Maybe it was because this happened to me (for 3 days) that I just loved it! It's erotic, sensual and so romantic. I enjoyed watching how these two characters with  such chemistry enjoy and bring out the best in each other. Added to the mix are  beautiful surroundings and the writer takes you right amongst it as a fly on the wall.

Loved it! 😍
