About this listen

I’m not sure what I was thinking that day.

It was a normal Thursday, nothing new or exciting had occurred in the morning.

I’d risen from bed, taken a shower and brushed my teeth. I’d then jumped on the 8:05 bus that ran a short distance between my house and the county library where I worked.

The ride took its usual 15 minutes before it left me standing fresh-faced in front of a building of gothic construction that was my favorite place in the world.

After straightening my knee-length skirt, I pushed open the door that led into the interior of the library.

It was at that moment that my world would change—impossibly and forever. It was a fateful movement of wood that collided with the shoulder of a man that would alter my very existence.

It wasn’t fear that I felt at that moment—more like the feeling of being watched. It was the feeling of knowing that danger lurks—the sensation of the hair standing on end at the back of your neck.

Looking back on a moment that happened so many months ago, I now realize that I should have listened to that feeling.

As I would later find out, the man standing in front of me referred to himself as Master Lucas…

…and I was his next target.

Get ready for the ride! Lily White is a master at the erotic psychological thriller and this one is no exception. Autumn is a librarian with definite opinions about erotic romance. When she spouts off her displeasure for the genre to a gentleman in the library, she doesn't realize just who that is. Lucas is the author of the most popular dark romance and will be doing a signing right there! Her naivete and lack of enthusiasm for his stories is just what he needs to get his new character moving. He knows she is the muse. But to win her over to his pleasures will not be an easy task. And the fun begins. This story is full of the most unexpected twists and turns. It's exciting as we see Autumn change, surprising to see just what Adam, the police man is up to, crazy to see what happens to Autumn's best friend Sarah and as for
Lucas, he is a complete bombshell. This one is a nail biter as it's happening, the shocking revelations made this a fantastic listen.

The narration for a story like this is key. The dark character of Lucas needed a very masculine, alpha voice and Orcus Auditory is this man! He understands Lucas and makes him jump out of the story as the deliciously, dark dom that is. Ada Sinclair has the layers of Autumn to peel and boy does she ever. This team is perfectly cast for this book and it is a listen you do not want to miss.

It’s okay, but I expected more erotica in the story.
The first half of the book was a little boring to me. The erotic scenes after that were okay. Storyline was okay, the end was a little predictable to me.
I did like the male narrator voice :)

I expected more

This is my first Lily White book but it definitely won't be my last. Two words come to mind with this story -- amazing and brilliant! I would probably call this an erotic dark psychological thriller. I found it captivating, and it left me on the edge of my seat from the beginning until the end. I can't wait to listen to more books by Lily White. Lucas was intimidating and dangerous especially for someone like Autumn who was so innocent and straight-laced. I thought the storyline was unique and thrilling with a story within a story. This book is definitely going in my favorites, and I expect Lily will soon be a favorite author of mine. I can't wait to see what other books she has written. If you like dark romance and psychological thrillers with some kinky, yet somewhat coerced, sex scenes and an unpredictable ending, then I highly recommend this book. Ada Sinclair and Orcus Auditory both did an outstanding job bringing this story to life.
