Summary
When her father's will leaves control of the family ranch to Ryder Malone, the very same man who once broke her heart, Sierra Morgan is more than a little upset. The last time she saw Ryder, she shot his hat right off his head, earning herself a long, hard spanking on her bare bottom that left her sore yet helplessly, infuriatingly aroused, and she had hoped to never see him again.
Ryder has not gotten over Sierra, and this time, he isn't going to let her run off without giving him a chance to tell her how he feels, even if that means lassoing her and tying her to a chair.
If she wants to inherit the ranch she loves, Sierra will have to work alongside Ryder for a year and convince him she is ready to run it. Passionate second chance
A second chance romance, Ryder and Sierra have a new opportunity to right the wrongs of their past. Sierra is a proud, fiery rancher and having Ryder oversee her work has the ranch staff sitting back & watching the fireworks! Ryder is Head of the Household and not shy about spanking Sierra if she's earned a punishment. Jack Calihan does a great job of bringing Ryder & Sierra to life.

Bound to enjoy married life
Interesting concept and idea of intelligent, strong and brave cowgirl who can root n shoot, ride and rope. Betrayed by her dead father to accept domineering husband who literally wants to bind her. Started off as an amusing entertaining tale with action and mustangs for 90% but the last hour gets very graphic. The figging and lube should have been in another story; I am sure the first 50 times of such play is arousing enough, but where next? A man who is cruel and domineering with his wife can be the same with animals, and children.
Their "play" had no safe word, no consent and no agreed boundaries, as such can be construed as torture. Women subjected to such treatment soon become victims of Stockholm Syndrome where they "enjoy" and empathize with their captor.
Am sure her very first intuition to shoot his hat off was the right one; perhaps she should have aimed lower. "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" (Dirty Dancing).
There was a warning about "adult themes" on the book, but who does not enjoy a bit of playful spanking and tying up? This book made me cringe and squirm with discomfort, which tainted my enjoyment of rest of the story of horses and outdoors.

The outcome is good!!
Ok.. so I’m having problem with some of the domestic discipline books. The ones where he’s just a bully, not a dominant. Because if their past, Ryder needed to gain trust, not bully his way back.
The underlying story is a good one. I just wish the discipline part of it was handled better.
Jack Calihan... he’s awesome. I like his voice and the way he handles characters. I enjoy listening to him narrate.

Fantastic start
This is a really good start to the series. The male character has been well thought out and the female character is strong. There’s definitely a reason for the warning in the blurb. It has some scenes that many may find uncomfortable but if you like to push boundaries this is the one for you

Great
This book is very enjoyable. It shows the day to day life of a full time alpha and his sub. It’s more of a lifestyle rather than a kink. Jack has the perfect voice for these characters.

Taming His Cowgirl
I'm not a huge fan of western romance books but this one sounded interesting so I thought I would give it a try. I'm so glad I did because I actually loved it. It was fun and entertaining. Sierra was a woman who needed to be tamed and Ryder was just the man to do it. Jack Calihan did a great job bringing this story to life.

Cowboys...
Give me a good western romance and I am hooked. This is my first book by Delta James, and I loved it. Not only does it have a good story, but the passion meter is high and the choice of narrator spot on! We meet Sierra, who's father has recently passed away. Figuring she would inherit the ranch after working it for several years, she is surprised to find control given to her ex-fiance Ryder. And their story continues. We get a great second chance romance, full of feistiness, spankings and chemistry. James has woven this story to be not only hot, but had some real life issues, like saving of wild horses. I love when an author includes something like this, it gives the story a realistic base as the couples search for their happiness. While at times I was frustrated with the amount of control Ryder wanted, I loved that Sierra gave up her spunky ways. It's a fun listen and I am looking forward to book 2.
Now, with a book like this, narration is key, and the choice of Jack Calihan is perfect. He brings this story to life with his voice, full of alpha male in one breath and spunky female in the other. I enjoyed his pacing and he had me sucked into the storyline.

good book
this is the first audible book I've listened to and while I would have preferred a female to read the female parts instead of a man I enjoyed it. great book. second chance romance out on the ranch with a lot of spanking to keep his girl in check
