About this listen

A sugar-daddy website doesn't seem a sound basis for an A1 life plan, but I'm a small-town girl with big dreams, and there's this one advert, this one crazy advert I can't stop thinking about....

Two hot guys seeking their Little Miss Right. Someone who can entertain them, amuse them, fit in with their corporate schedule. And sex. They want sex. Lots of sex. Bonus, right? One major dose of epic win.

Of course, guys like Carl and Rick have their conditions. One being that they come together or not at all. Hell, I can live with that.

And there are no skeletons in their designer closet, none that I can find. Just two hot sugar daddies, with particular tastes, nothing to worry about.

Until Carl and Rick spill the big one, the one that sends the girls running. A whole string of them before me, running to the hills without so much as a backward glance.

Maybe I should run, too. Thanks but no thanks, see you around, guys, nice knowing you. But I'm already in way too deep for that.

Contains mature themes.

well I have to admit that this was not my favorite book, however I think that's more personal preference rather than a poorly written book or a bad performance. I liked the narrators for the most part the only thing that bothered me was the female voice of the male character when she was distressed, it sounded very whiney, the story was great I have no complains it was exactly what I was expecting no shortcomings on that part. overall I would and wouldn't recommend this book. it was great but not so much that I will be rereading it often.

It was an interesting book!

Though the narration isn't great (neither voice actor reads in voices which fit my notion of the characters they're supposed to represent), the characterisation isn't bad. I'm not sure I'm really convinced that a "real" Katie would change her mind about the mens' dreams so readily. I think her father would have been more likely to sack Carl when he found out what was going on but I found it relatively easy to suspend my disbelief in these and similarly unlikely situations. The MCs are pretty attractive people I found easy to like and there is some attention to both character development and the slow release of relevant details about each person.

The plot twist isn't really a twist at all, just another event in their story (albeit a significant one). For those who like spice, I thought this was fairly hot and, imo, probably deserves a score slightly above 3.5 out of 5. Scenes are plentiful and the language used by each character is lewd but never derogatory (rare in books of this genre). Frequency fortunately doesn't imply monotony in this case and the physical relationships develop at a believable pace, though the "love" does feel almost insta.

The audiobook was free in the Plus catalogue when I listened to it but I've now filed it away as possibly worth buying in the future. I've listened to other books by Ms West with varying degrees of satisfaction with each novel. Again, imo, this ranks as one:of the better ones. Oh, and no-one should miss meeting the stunning Samson. He's an absolute star and though he might not try and take your breath away, his glorious physique, his gorgeous smell and his beautiful brown eyes might just steal your heart instead.

Strangely much better than I'd imagined it would be.

The story was okay. As a fan of Jade West, I've read better. Perhaps it was the Narrators who ruined it for me. The female was robotic and the male was possibly the least sexy interpretation of a "cockney" I've ever heard. It was honestly comical 😩. Shame really. I'd suggest reading this book, rather than listening to the audiobook.

Awful Narrators
