About this listen

All Cassidy Bowman wants is one night of recklessness… and to get back at her ex.

Cassidy has strict rules: she doesn't date locals, she doesn't sleep with men she isn't dating, and she doesn't do anything that might jeopardize her good-girl reputation. But after a run-in with her ex-boyfriend—and a few too many drinks—she's ready to buck those rules and get revenge.

Local cowboy Chase "Red" Thompson has never met a rule he didn't love breaking. With a tarnished reputation, brash attitude, and decades-long crush on Cassidy, he's more than willing to go along with her plan: one night together that they'll never talk about again.

Until two pink lines threaten Cassidy's rule book, and both of their reputations. She doesn't want a relationship with the rough-and-tumble cowboy. And he knows he's not good enough for Wells Canyon's sweetheart, anyway.

Being nothing more than friends and co-parents should be easy, but lines blur and rules… well, sometimes they're worth breaking.

Book 2 in the Wells Ranch series follows Cassidy & Chase aka Red who we met in book 1. After a crappy breakup Cassidy decides some no strings attached fun on the hood of her cheating exs car would be a great way to move on and Red is more than happy to oblige her. Fast forward a few weeks later and two pink lines obliterate the no strings things and these two have to get to know each other and figure out a way to eventually be able to co-parent for the sake of their future child... that is if they can ignore the underlying sexual chemistry and tension between them.

Initially I wasn't sure I was going to like Cassidy. She came across stuck up and judgmental even towards one of her supposedly best friends by calling her slutty for having an active and varied sex life... and what do you mean she wasn’t sure she was going to bother telling Red the baby is his? Just because she has known him since they were kids doesn't mean she knows if he would want to be a dad or if he would be a good one or not without getting to know him now or at least asking him and to be pissy about him bringing her things that may help with the morning sickness etc was just childish imo. Thankfully as the story went along her character improved and by the end of the book my initial dislike had disappeared. Chase was a typical gruff/rough around the edges rancher known for his playboy-ish and bar fighting ways, but once he finds out about the baby he is all in and wants nothing more than to be the kind of man deserving of Cassidy & their Little Spud which he isn't sure he is capable of given his own crappy childhood.

I think Cassidy & Chase complimented each other well, the sexual and emotional chemistry was evident from the start but their romantic connection developed slowly enough for it to feel realistic especially with them navigating an unexpected pregnancy. They understood each other and saw behind the facades they put on for most people and embraced each other's vulnerabilities. Overall I found this to be a more engaging and enjoyable read than book one, the romance was sweet and a little angsty with cute, wholesome, funny and spicy moments woven throughout and I'm looking forward to the next book for sure. 🌶🌶🌶

Seeing Red is a beautifully written small-town romance packed with some of my favourite tropes - grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, and unexpected pregnancy. Cass’s strict rules and Chase's 'Red' laid-back charm created such a fun and fiery dynamic, keeping me hooked from the very first page.
Red has quickly snagged a spot as one of my absolute favourite book boyfriends! His unwavering devotion and the way he steps up truly make my heart melt.
The small-town setting added warmth and a sense of community, making the whole story even more immersive. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Audio is in dual style - Narrators did a great job bringing the story to life.

Wow this book pulled at every heart string. Listened to it in a day. The vulnerability of the characters was so raw seeing both their insecurities. I don’t have enough words to say how much I loved it 🥰

The narrators captured these characters perfectly, and this has become my comfort read because it’s the perfect blend of sass, spice, and heart. Oh and a healthy helping of potatoes!
