Give me a best friends-to-lovers romance and I’m already invested. Give me time hops so I get to watch the characters grow, see their history unfold, and slowly realise just how deep their connection goes? I’m SOLD. 🥹❤️
Wren and Theo had me in my feelings! -Watching them spend so much time trying to ignore that undeniable pull between them, while we get to see all those little moments that show they’ve basically been falling for each other all along… THE YEARING. THE PINING. THE “JUST KISS ALREADY!” 😩🔥
And Theo… 👀 Well, let’s just say this man has a few surprises up his sleeve — including being a cam boy. 😏🔥 It was an interesting part of his character and definitely added another layer to his story. But underneath all of that, there’s something really beautiful about Wren and Theo’s relationship. They’ve known each other for so long, and seeing those little moments through the time jumps made it so easy to understand why their connection runs as deep as it does. They weren’t just falling in love… they’d been loving each other for years without even fully realising it. 🥹❤️ -“𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚”🫠🫠
But this wasn’t just romance. Amber Paige weaves in some really emotional and heavier themes, including emotional abuse from a parent and the impact that can have on a child’s mental and physical wellbeing. Chronic illness and depression are also explored, adding another layer to Wren’s story and making her journey feel incredibly personal and touching.
There were moments that genuinely tugged at my heart, and I loved that alongside all the swoony romance, there was a story about healing, resilience, and understanding yourself.
And the NARRATION?! 👏🏻🔥
Savannah Thomas and Gabriel Michael absolutely brought it.
Their performances made Wren and Theo feel so real, and you could hear every bit of the longing, tenderness, frustration and love between them. The chemistry hit me straight through my headphones, and I was just sitting there like…
“Well, this is clearly my new favourite place.” 😂
The duet narration was chef’s kiss. 🤌🏻 Top-tier performances from both narrators!
Also, Amber Paige is a new-to-me author, and I’m SO glad I stumbled across this one because now I’m absolutely going down the rabbit hole of her backlist. 👀📚
