I LOved this story and after Vandals book which was dark and kind of heavy and emotional,I felt that Luka's book was a little lighter and incredibly romantic...well to me it was anyway.
I fell in Love with Lukas immediately he is so swoon worthy and man he could charm me anytime.
Luka's is a 24 year old Tattoo artist and part time rockstar,he sometimes plays the Violin with the band Ashes and Embers...he is super talented...But he is bored with one night stands and being with women who have already slept with his brother Vandal.
He is newly single and doesn't expect to find a connection with one of his clients,as soon as their eyes meet it like there is an invisible pull between them...
Ivy is newly divorced with 2 children and for the first time is trying to navigate life as a single woman.After her ex husband had an affair for a year under her nose I think Ivy lost her confidence in herself....So her best friend encourages her to do all the things she wanted to do when she was married but wasn't allowed to do because her husband didn't like it.
One of these things is getting a tattoo so she does just that...But she didn't expect to see Lukas the tattoo artist and get an odd tingly feeling in her body and to chat effortlessly with him.
They just recognise something within eachother that feels like home,like they are soul mates.
Of course the road to happiness for Ivy and Lukas is not an easy one..Ivy is really troubled with the age gap she is 36 while Lukas is 24,she has so many doubts and fears.
I think we can all relate to Ivy and how she feels as an older woman whose body has changed,she is not young anymore she has curves,stretch marks and she has only been with her husband who cheated....So why would a 24 year old man be interested and attracted to her.
I think her husbands infidelity made her fell unattractive,but she doesn't know Lukas when he wants something he goes for it and he wants Ivy in his life.
The things that worry Ivy Do NOT worry Lukas at all he just sees Ivy for the wonderful woman she is and the caring mother he sees when she talks about her children.
He wants that he wants a family after being abandoned by his parents,he wants to make his own family...But they ahve to cope with Ivy's insecurities and her ex husbands interferrence it makes for a rocky romance.
Honestly Lukas is just perfection I guarentee you will adore him,he is just so kind and caring thoughtful and super sexy.
I thought this book was going to be without angst because everything is just going tso well they are in love,the children are excepting of their age gap and relationship.....The WHAM Carian Cole puts a bombshell in there that leaves me fuming !!..and I was afraid Ivy and Lukas wouldn't recover from it.
Ivy had gained her confidence back being with Lukas but after the shock bombshell it seems she goes back to the old Ivy.
But Let me tell you the ending to this book made me Love Lukas even more and feel so emotional the lengths he goes to for his family shows what a heart of gold he has.
Listening to this audiobook was such a treat I loved Tatiana Sokolov and Nelson Hobbs narrating this book they are perfection and just made this book such a pleasure to listen to.
I thoroughly enjoyed Lukas and Carian Coles words she can really write and addictive and enthralling story.
I LOved it.
