About this listen

Is blood thicker than water?
Do loyalties only stay within the confines of the family?
Bobby and Tilly’s relationship has dealt with enough hardship. From Bobby’s crutch with drugs, to ease the pain of time, as he thought Tilly’s heart ceased to beat forever. To Tilly’s over-bearing parents moving into town, relentlessly manipulating her to move back home and forget about The Afton Adders. Their relationship was already tested by her near-death experience; will it fortify against the storms that arise? Or will it wither and die?

They find their fate isn’t decided by them, but by another.

This book is a relatively quick listen and I loved Bobby and Tilly after meeting them in book one. The narration continues to be superb with James Joseph really leaning into Bobby's charisma and loyalty; you can understand why people are drawn to him. Allie Rose brings out Tilly's growth as she embraces her Domme side and overcomes the ideals her parents placed on her. Add in Sean Masters' Marcus, whose vulnerability just broke my heart, and you have three characters who just fit together and help each other heal.

As much as I loved these characters and the narration, I just wanted a little more depth to push this to a four star for me. Bobby's addiction, Marcus' mental health and Tilly's trauma all had a lot of potential to go a lot deeper but it felt a little surface level for some of those elements as it is a fast paced story. I was still engaged and enjoyed the listen but it felt like a missed opportunity.

Although there are dark themes, the humour which balances it out was really funny; from the horse names to Bobby's cowboy antics, and pretty much anything Biscuit said. He and Baba are my favourite side characters and I hope there is more of them in book three!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Fantastic Narration

This is the second book in the Afton Adders series, a why choose romance. Bobby, Tilly, and Marcus’s story is intense, passionate, and captivating. The characters are well developed and easy to connect with. It’s an emotional, complex, and steamy second-chance romance. Allie Rose, James Joseph, and Sean Masters did an outstanding job bringing these characters and their story to life. I’m looking forward to listening to Hearts Strengthened, the next in the series.

Bobby is my favourite character and I was so excited for his story and it’s was PERFECT I just want to scream I loved it SO much!!

Bobby,Tilly and Marcus each have their own traumas and stories that they are battling and it was so beautiful how with each they found healing and the love they deserve.

I would like to add that I’m also ready to be branded into the Afton Adders 😏

The narration was outstanding wow!!

Allie Rose as Tilly whew holy hot!! She has this sultry voice especially when Tilly shows her dominate side it was beautiful. Her emotional depth wow she brought me to instant tears and her Baba is outstanding I love it so hard!!

James Jospeh my favourite thing is his range of accents and the choice he made with Bobby might be may favourite ahhh I just loved it so so much they way he would deliver Bobbys playful lines and then his commanding lines perfection! He really showed his range of British accent which as a Brit I personally loved! Nobody else in my opinion could have voice Bobby better.

Sean Masters as Marcus this is my first time hearing him using a British accent and I’m so impressed it was really amazing wow! The emotion he brought to Marcus character was heartbreaking Marcus was so broken and didn’t feel worthy and I felt it in my whole chest perfection!!

This book is more perfect than I can imagine no notes!!!

I’m so excited for book 3.

Thank you to Blue Nose for the early listen!!
