Oh how I felt for Leila how heart breaking when your first crush/love becomes your stepfather. If you love a book that is full on Taboo than First is so a book for you/me. I was not a big fan of Silas he is just so full on I was rooting for Brax he seems a much better fit for Leila. I was not sure that the length of this book would be enough to get into a story but it's wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am full on and smoking hot. I can't wait to hear the next two books as I so need to know how this will play out.

Lacy Laurel is fab and she puts so much into her story telling I just love her voice and emotion. Aaron Shedlock is the perfect alpha and did a excellent job and they both sounded amazing talking in Spanish.

I need the next book ASAP.x

Maybe this book wasn't for me, or I don't know. I didn't really enjoyed it, nor was I able to really get into the story. The characters are ok, not great, and I didn't feel a real connection or chemestry between Silas and Leia, this attraction toward each other they said they have it's kind of missing, at least for me.

The narrattion was really good, both Lacy Laurel and Aaron Shedlock did a fantastic job with their narrattion and I really liked it.

Leia and Sy's story was explosive and volatile. He was older and friends with her mother, she was 13 an not his to take. He wanted her for so long and she will always be in love with him. As Leia got older the need and desire for each other grew. I know Sy was to old for her but I wanted them to be together. When Brax entered the picture I still wanted Sy to win in the end. This was such a hot ans sexy story I wish it lasted longer.

The sweet voice of Lacy Laurel gave Leia the innocence a young girl; and the deep timber and accent of Arron Shedlock's voice was perfect for Sy. Loved every minute of it!

There’s so much about this book that pushes into taboo and downright forbidden. I’m left with too many mixed feeling and I’m undecided if I want rest of this series.
The writing is brilliant and I cannot fault that at all. I love the cultural references and the characters on their own and even their chemistry is scorching just the story itself doesn’t lure me. There’s no real romantic connotation just plain taboo.

Firsts by C.L. Matthews is the 1st book I've listened to by this author. Definitely won't be the last. This is a taboo/age gap story and I loved it. If you like these types of story's you will love this one. A good combination of the world building and character development. Leia and Sy will take you on a fabulously twisted journey. Be warned this is a cliffhanger.
The Narrators Aaron Shedlock and Lacy Laurel did a great job bringing this story to life.
