'A refreshing, tension-filled MM romance with depth, heart, and just the right amount of angst.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

'Freaking phenomenal. The chemistry? Electric. The banter? Sharp, addictive, and completely off the charts.' ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The stakes have never been higher in this spicy F1 forced proximity romcom!

Race car driver Johannes Muller is on a hot streak this season and seems destined to claim the championship win … until his performance unexpectedly falters. Gone is his cool confidence – on the track he can barely qualify, let alone take home the trophy.

The team’s race engineer, Caleb Hughes, is determined to get his star driver back in pole position, but soon the sparks flying over the radio are more chemistry than competition.

In a sport where everyone gives it their all at all times, it’s not long before Johannes and Caleb realise that their racing line is leading them towards a collision they won’t be able to walk away from unscathed…

Really enjoyed this book, just like the first one! I re-listened to Pole Position before this and so the completely different accents in this reading really threw me off, e.g. Harper having a posh British accent. I'm not sure what accent Johannes was meant to have. You sort of get used to it. Despite the accents I enjoyed the book! I hope there are more.

Great story, strange accents

Just a fantastic story, could have used some more happy ending, but just fabulous.

The characters are fun and deep, interesting to see who the next book is about.

Sweet Real & Lovely

I loved the first book in this series, so I was really looking forward to this one. The story is still interesting, but for me, the narration was a letdown. There were too many languages and accents being attempted, and it took me out of the story. I also found the plot a bit predictable.

Bit of a Letdown

Johannes Muller is wallowing on his birthday and wants to celebrate with his boyfriend, but he doesn’t hear from him. Instead he breaks up with him affecting his focus on the track and his performance in the car.

Caleb Hughes is Johannes’s racing engineer and is riding the high of his wins, until it stops with no reason why. Caleb knows something is wrong and he tries to find out.

Wanting to forget his ex and to win on the track Johannes needs some good luck. Caleb can help him with that but starting a relationship while working on the same team could be dangerous.

I loved this second book from Rebecca J Caffery following a fictional formula one team.
The conflict that Caleb feels is palpable. Johannes was such a likeable character that had been hurt thanks to his ex. It took him a while to realise that Caleb is everything that his ex wasn’t.
It was expertly narrated by Curtis Michael Holland and Robin Speare.

Great insight into racing

Narration:
It has been said already by others but honestly I would expect a major publishing house like Harper Collins to do better by its authors and make some effort to have performers who either can do the accents or who are actually from the same country as the MCs. German accent sounds British half the time, American sometimes, and mysterious European others. It detracts from the story, which honestly needs all the help it can get.

Story:
I really liked the first book but this was disappointing. I get that romance novels are trope-y but use the tropes creatively. It was way longer than it needed to be as well. I skipped like 6 chapters and didn't feel like I missed anything.

Disappointing
