About this listen
She captivates me the second I lay eyes on her.
Everything about her is pure, delicate beauty, and in my world, those things are commodities.
Even Aoife can be bought and sold. Even Aoife has secrets that will see her getting into bed with the Irish Mob to protect them.
The truth won't set her free; it will entangle her deeper in my web.
Exactly where I want her.
One taste was all it took.
She's mine.
Whether she likes it or not...
This is Finn O'Grady's story.
©2020 Serena Akeroyd Publishing Ltd. (P)2022 Serena Akeroyd Publishing Ltd.I was floored and gripped from the first chapter and didn't put it down until I was through.
It's got blackmail, extortion, drugs, guns and worse, but through it all is the start to a highly unconventional love story!! And if you've read the book, you'd know why, if you're about to start reading it, you soon will do 😉😉
It's an Irish mob story, but in the middle of it is an Irish family of old world ideologies. That means church every Sunday and for mass for EVERYONE, from the lowest echelon to the highest, has to attend and again EVERYONE also has to go to confession!! If anyone in their mob didn't go.....Well it's best not to say right here!!
The great thing is, that all through this everything just works, until one fateful day Aoife asks Finn to look into something for her!! This is when I remembered some thing Lena asked Aoife when they went for coffee, suddenly made sense to me!!
BUT......
It wasn't only what I thought that was confirmed, but an entire twist I didn't expect floored me!! Trust me when I say I rarely miss something and to have this thrown in was a
WHHAAAATTTTTT, moment to be sure!!
So would I recommend the book one hundred thousand percent!!
What I'm not sure on however is the audio!!
Now I love Jacob Morgan and he's excellent in this, but I've never been a very big fan of Emma Wilder. Now don't get me wrong, when she does the lower vocals i love her as she has remarkable range, especially for males.
It's the voice she's used before for the female lead and I've got to assume that it's her everyday voice and I'm horrid for saying this, but personally I find it to be extremely irritating.
It grates over my nerves, a bit like nails down a chalkboard kinda thing!! But this is my personal opinion and others may find they believe differently. I
However, if you want to know if I recommend the audio, I suppose I do!! If for nothing else Jacob is on top form as usual and if you can grin and bare it and let's not forget her lower ranges are not as annoying, then I'd say for her talent alone i do have to admit that it's worth it in the end.......🤦🤦🙈🙊
