About this listen

I’m in a book club - they have no clue I audio book instead of hardback book read. Still waiting for everyone to get to the halfway point of the 1st book in series Tentacle monster.
This story started off well. The story built up, wasn’t expecting a polyamory story at all, going on the book cover.
Questions which came up:
-why did this woman abandon her cat?
-how did the humans manage to gain so much power so quickly
-the story could be fleshed out a bit (then found out this the initial sci-fi book by author)
-more about the 2x male leads and what they missed about their home worlds
Overall, 7.5 out of 10. Would’ve preferred a longer fleshed out story and build up of friendship between the 3x main characters.
