About this listen

Reese:

My life hasn't been easy. At age 11, my parents and two younger siblings were murdered and I went to live with my grandmother. At age 18, I broke up with my boyfriend of almost one year because he wasn't who I thought he was. He further proved that when he put his hands on me. Two weeks later, my grandmother died. I moved to a new town with my last living relative, my older brother, Carbon, to finish my senior year of high school at Croftridge High.

Then, I met Duke Jackson. One decision changed my life forever.

Duke:

My life was in a good place. My sister was happy and healthy and I had my club. I couldn't ask for more, or so I thought.

The night I ran into Reese Walker, I realized I could ask for more. I wanted more, and it was her.

I almost had her, but I messed up and she walked away. I was angry and hurt, so I let her go, until the night she came crashing back into my life. Secrets were exposed and ghosts from the pasts resurfaced, but I refused to let her walk away from me a second time without a fight.

Contains mature themes.

I actually teared up at the end of the book! I am now moving onto book 3. 3rd book in under 24hrs. so good. you really feel invested in the story and characters.

I like the male reader, not so much the female reader. A good reader makes the story great. Male
Reader is a 10/10 and Female Reader is a 2/10

Love the male reader

I read this as I was intrigued by the Reese in the last book and wanted to know her story. The book was alright, not bad or anything, i just wasn't that emotionally invested. I expected there to be a bit more danger/action (the story was quite short) and more character development. I mostly pitied Reese and Duke didn't seem much different to Dash. They just seem like alpha men without much differentiating them personality wise. I like that the club has morals and protects women though. I didn't mind the narrators. the man is great, the woman is alright, not my favourite narrator but fine to listen to. in a way, she suits being the voice of Reese. I really want to listen to book 3 just to find out how Phoenix's story ends but I'm nervous about using my credit on a short book that might be average

it's alright
