About this listen

Coming out to Mom is a lesbian rite of passage. In the third edition of this landmark anthology, 34 remarkable women face their fears and confusion, prejudice and misunderstandings, and speak honestly and bravely about the difficulties and joys of life with their "different daughters". Among the topics of discussion are family, community, religion, grandchildren, bisexuality, transgenderism, and coming out.

I have an interest in this area and so I bought it. The reader has an incredibly annoying voice which was very distracting. The actual content is diverse if dated and all American. I would say the mothers are very honest and therefore it can be emotional. I found it sometimes hard to listen to as it made me feel angry (being 'a daughter') and sometimes very sad but also insightful and I feel I have a better understand of the parents experience even if I still don't feel they have the right to feel so devastated about it.

Interesting but a little depressing
