About this listen

You fell in love with Caleb in the best-selling THE STRANGER series...now all about his life in the hottest gay cam house on the World Wide Web!

Caleb is living his best life—he's young, stupidly hot, and insanely popular with the West Hollywood trade. But Caleb's moving to Sin City and turning over a new leaf as the freshest face at BoysTown, the premier subscription site for hot young cam boys.

Being a BoysTown boy comes with amazing privileges: a new car, fawning adulation from thousands of horny dudes, and more cash than Caleb EVER saw working as a waiter. But there's a whole other side to the BoysTown experience: interactions with creeps, weird roommates, having cameras record your every move 'round the clock, and the crippling doubts one gets about selling their body to pervs for fat stacks.

It's still mostly fun and games being a real live plaything in the BoysTown menagerie until a complication enters in the form of one buff, tattooed hunk of a roomie named Josh. Caleb is flooded with confusing feelings that, for the first time, aren't just lust. Love doesn't happen when you're streaming 24/7, does it?

Will Caleb fall victim to the siren song of cash, sex, and low-level internet fame? Or is something bigger (and more meaningful) just beyond the horizon, big as the Nevada sky?

LA twink Caleb wants to be an actor but, in the meantime he needs money to set himself up financially, so applies to be a BoysTown cam boy with three other boys in Las Vegas. The house is full of cameras and the boys’ lives are controlled by the manipulative Bradley who seeks to engineer situations to humiliate the houseboys and maximise profits with the livestream and videos he posts on his website. Caleb knuckles down to earn the big money but when Josh, a new boy, arrives in the house, Caleb and Josh fall for each other and chafe under Bradley’s heavy-handed rules.

I was surprised to feel a lot of affection for the cam boys in this erotic sex-for-hire romance. The wild Damian, the vacuous Gerry, the wildly popular Caleb, and the down-to-earth Josh were all deftly drawn characters while Bradley was a great ‘baddy’. The first half of the book was wall-to-wall steam but the second half was a sweet slow-burn as Josh and Caleb refuse allow their nascent relationship to be tarnished by Bradley and the house rules. I also loved the insight into the workings of the cam house. Only two things stopped me from giving this five stars: I felt Bradley could have been more Machiavellian and nasty to add more drama, and I felt the final showdown resolved a little too easily. 🎧 I wasn’t familiar with Canadian narrator Wesley Lynch but I loved his performance—great job on all the character voices! I’m looking forward to more by these authors and this narrator!!

Loved this peek into a cam-boy group-house!

Reread as audiobook. Interesting narrator who did a really good job on the various characters, and made Judy's voice as frustrating as it would be in real life.
A really unusual story with lots of unexpected twists and a whole lot of interesting characters, both inside and outside the house. Caleb really grew as a character, particularly with Josh's support. The first part could perhaps have been a bit shorter in comparison. It was necessary to show the dubious consent issues, but I would have loved more of the connections and feelings in the second part. The ending was really unexpected and left me very curious about how this series will go on.

This was the second book I listened to by Chance and Bella, and I have to say, I really love how unhinged and open they are in crafting their stories.

The story begins when Caleb moves into a house called *Boys Town*—a reality show-style setup similar to *Big Brother*, where all inhabitants are watched 24/7. Each of the four boys has daily chat sessions with the subscribers. At first, the constant surveillance feels overwhelming, but Caleb quickly adapts. Before long, he becomes the favorite cam boy, effortlessly charming the audience. Despite the substantial tips he earns, he never forgets where he came from and tries to give back to those who need it even more.

This is a complex story about friendship, manipulation, secret societies, and the doors that can open for the right price. The unhinged sexual tension forms a constant undercurrent, making the relationship between Caleb and Josh even more compelling.

What I loved most was the underlying message—there’s always a perspective beyond money, and not everything can be bought. If you’re looking for a book packed with steam, intrigue, and life-altering decisions, this is the one for you.

The narration by Wesley is fantastic, and I especially loved the way he brought Josh and Gerry to life.

An amazing story with a complex plot
