Paul attempts to leave his dark past of midnight murder sprees behind by seeking a new job and lifestyle. However, he seems to have car issues in the backroads of the countryside of central Florida that leaves him stranded on foot in the blazing summer heat. All seems to be a dead end for Paul until he comes across a ranch owner (Betty) who offers him a dream job as a Nuisance Predator hunter on the ranch. He also finds a euphoric and erotic connection with Betty while living on Buck Buck Ranch, and finds a wickedly-eerie presence of a praised horse at the ranch named Buckbuck.
