This book got me into rollercoaster damage. Let me get into that. The way Stephanie works with her books is that she takes you on a rollercoaster ride and you have no idea where it will bring you and which path. You get bumped from side to side without a breather until it stops. Did this story hurt, you have no idea how much. The journey she takes you on is epic storytelling at its finest. With Joe as Matt, it just took that story to another level entirely. His use of words in certain moments gave that extra swag to Matt's personality. The way he puts his shields up when he is protecting and to let them fall when he loses control, is just amazing how Joe brought that to life. Then you have Angelina and I cant tell anyone this enough that she is magnificent in her narrations. I just adore how she brings her characters out. They needed a powerwoman with Fran and Angelina made that happen to a fault. Then those two combined in a journey together made it even better. Epic choice for a duet in an audiobook.
I feel like I took the journey with them in this book and I was so invested with the characters that I might need to check my mental status after this series and might need a spot in a asylum for a few days to recover. Will I still read or listen to her books, hell yeah. If you want to dive into a mafia romance with delicious banter between 2 people that are in their denial phase on how they stand with eachother, this book is def one to pick up. It has suspense, betrayal, jealousy, trust needs to be earned, loss of control, healing and all that jazz. I do suggest making sure you go through the trigger warnings and if you are interested in this series start with the first book to get into the world of the family.

This was performed by Angelina Rocca and Joe Arden I love this duo they have amazing chemistry I know I’m going to get an outstanding performance and this DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The banter scenes really delivered.
Angelina as Francesa was fantastic she brought her female boss energy that Francesca’s character demands and she brought all her emotion and vulnerability as well as her sultry voice and it was truly breathtaking. This is one of my favourite Angelina performances!!
Joe Arden as Matteo was an outstanding performance as always I felt connected to all the feelings Matt was going through and the way he delivered some of Matts lines was blush worthy. The Italian delivery was omg it was SO good!!!

This audio book follows the story of Matteo and Francesca and what first started as an unconventional marriage, as Matteo steps in to take his brother place when he realises that he loves someone else, but unknown to Matteo he suddenly finds out he has meet Francesca before and they both had an instant connection but left each not knowing the name of the other, but now Francesca is being forced to marry him she has decided the idea doesn’t appeal to her.
Matteo is next in line to become the Don after his grandfather and carries all the weight that goes with it, and protects his family and his heart fiercely, he is loyal to a fault and when he falls he falls hard and struggles with know what to do with his feelings as he feels he should always be in control and Francesca throws him into chaos.
Francesca is a strong independent woman but knows what being a mafia princess means and fights tooth and nail against it starting with being passed to Matteo to marry. She has been badly hurt in the past and is unwilling to put herself back into the darkness that nearly consumed her.
When Francesca’s life is put at risk both come together to fight the danger that lies ahead with a number of twists and turns that made this story so strong. Stephanie Amaral’s writing is absolutely incredible and her characters are so three dimensional that you can’t but help become totally engrossed.
Matteo and Francesca’s chemistry just ebbs off the page and sweeps along on journey of laughter, love and heartache leaving you wondering if they can survive the huge cliff hanger at the end of the book.
Angelina Rocca & Joe Arden’s narration of this book is one of the best I have listened too, the emotion from both narrators had me feeling everything these two characters go through and left a lasting impression on me.
I seriously can’t recommend this author enough I absolutely love her stories and the way she tells them and to this Angelina and Joe and this book and audio is one of my top five.

Francesca (narrated by Angelina Rocco) is a mafia princess, but not a typical on. She is fully aware of what her family is/does and lives for "the life". She is feisty, strong willed and fierce, though she also had some dark times in her past.
If she could she would take over for her uncle, the head of her family. The only thing standing in her way? She is a woman and that is just not done.
She does her duty and is arranged to marry into the Battaglia family to end a "dispute".
She has resigned herself to do so to help her family, but finds out they "switched" fiancées on her!
Matteo Battaglia (narrated by Joe Arden) loves his life, is strong, dark and fierce, but also has a protective streak a few miles wide
He is soon to be head of his family, but to get there according to his Capo/Grandfather he has to be married, and he is willing to do what he has to reach his goal.
The only thing he did not count on was Francesca.
This was susch a great story! The kind that it really grinds you that you have to pay attention to "real life" becasue you want to know what happens next!
The written chemistry between Matt and Francesca in print was almost palpable and Joe and Angelina elevate that to a whole new level with this audio.
As stated before I have read the book and thought I had "felt it" but boy was I wrong!
Just when you think you have it figured out and know what is going on or might happen Stephanie Amaral pulls a plot twist out and you have no idea anymore!
