About this listen
The first part of this story, Reparations Mall: The Wiig Salon, first appeared as part of the Torments and Humiliations Volume Seven collection. Then, a friend made some lovely suggestions concerning the story and characters, and I decided to continue it as a short story on its own.
Chapter one finds a black mother, Tamzin, and her daughter K’Nesha visiting a wig salon at the Reparations Mall. At the salon, a white mother and daughter have their heads shorn of their natural blond hair to make beautiful wigs for Tamzin and K’Nesha.
In Chapter two, Tamzin and K’Nesha visit the salon a year later to see how the white mother and daughter are getting along. Enjoy this bit of fantasy alternative history.
