About this listen
Foster
I’m a successful entrepreneur who’s made a good life for himself. I’ve had a few intimate relationships, but none have lasted. Probably because I haven’t been able to be my authentic self. See, in my heart, I’m a pup. I want to curl into a wonderful Daddy‘s lap and be petted, stroked, and praised. I long for piles with other puppies where we play and I can make friends. But who’s going to accept a forty-five-year-old man into that puppy pile?
Arnav
I met Foster on Halloween, and I wanted him because he was good-looking and hot, despite being twenty years my senior. Now, when I spot him across a BDSM playroom, I’m struck by his forlorn look. I haven’t seen him here on puppy-play night before, but I’m not surprised when he tells me he wants to be a pup. I was born to be a Daddy. For Foster, I’m ready to dive into the world of sweet pups and handlers and see if I have what it takes to make Foster’s Christmas wish come true.
Foster is an age-gap interracial gay romance about a lonely pup, a younger Daddy, and the best Christmas imaginable.

Gabbi does it again, such a great, easy-to-listen book.
This book is part of the Mission City series, whilst there are lots of references to other couples, this can easily be read as a stand-alone book. We meet Arnav and Foster, an age gap of 16 years and an older sub with a younger daddy. It has a small glimpse of puppy play, but of that’s what you want from this book, its not here. It really is a small mention of.
What this book does have is a loving, easy-to-read/listen to book that will put a smile on your face.
Well written and as normal, great characters.
Michael Ferraiuolo did an excellent job of narrating this book. As usual, I sped up the recording to 1.20 on Audible.

I received this audiobook for free from GRR at my request. My review is my opinion and an honest review - neither the author nor GRR influenced my opinion.

It also doesn't help the situation that he's not being his authentic self.
Arvan first noticed Foster at a Halloween event and now months later is struck by him.
I really enjoyed seeing them navigate a new type of relationship for them both.
Michael Dean did an amazing job narrating and bringing these characters to life.

Story - 3.5 stars. Foster is still struggling with the aftermath of having lived in an abusive relationship, and Arnav has a lot of work to do to try and win his trust. Foster wanted to find a handler so that he could be a puppy who wasn't alone, but self-doubt held him back. I found it somewhat surprising that there was so little pup/handler in the story. There were good appearances of the usual people in Mission City (who fortunately didn't take over this story).

The story of Arnav and Forster is sweet, and I enjoyed it. I thought it was great that the author described an unexpected dynamic that you wouldn't expect when reading a story about an age difference. Forster is just sweet, while Arnav is patient and confident. Both come from very different backgrounds. While Arnav comes from a large family that lovingly supports him, Foster grew up in foster care after his mother neglected him. He finds it difficult to allow love into his life.
The story is a tender love story with little angst, which also works wonderfully as a standalone book if you haven't read anything from Mission City yet.
Michael Dean did a terrific job as always, portraying Arnav and Foster with fitting voices. He skillfully conveyed the emotions and brought the story to life. It was a pleasure to listen to him.
Good story, great narration
