Summary
An eighty-year-old man is found murdered in his home. His age and standing in the community makes finding his killer difficult–why would anyone harm an elderly man? What threat could he possibly be to anyone?
With no apparent motive, DS George Cross canvases the community for potential suspects but the man was known as generous, charitable, community-minded. Each interview about who the man is muddies the picture further. So Cross decides to look for who he was–revealing a past that is far less honourable than his present . . .
Perfect for fans of MW Craven, Peter James and Joy Ellis, The Teacher is part of the DS George Cross thriller series, which can be listened to in any order.
'I am insanely in love with George Cross, a perfect detective for our time and for all time.' STEPHEN FRY

Absolutely brilliant
Really enjoyed all the previous books in this series, and this is the best so far. George is a really interesting character and the storyline of this one keeps him on his toes to the very last minute.
Brilliantly read.

Twists and turns
I’m so sad the series is over. The end to a brilliant series was left a bit to the imagination. Still a great story which I enjoyed very much. The narration was also great.

Best George Cross book yet
Terrific story kept me guessing to the last chapter. Very exciting. Twists and turns excellent. Many topics very relevant to police work today.

Misogyny and women being exploited in the police outed!! Couldn’t stop listening
I love the way Tim writes, it’s open minded, fluid, and evolving, twist, and turns with always a great finale!!

Quite superb
I love all the DS Cross books and this is the best yet. A superb story, so clever and absorbing. The characters are so well drawn and the tensions caused by George Cross's 'quirks' are really well described, There's a lot of humour there as well. My only minor reservation relates to the description of the trial in the Crown Court when many of the procedures and words are American and have no place in English trial proceedings. It's a common error but disappointing none the less. This won't worry most people, though, and it's still a brilliant read!
