Summary

The wife. The mistress. Who will get their revenge?

I was the other woman. The mistress. Everyone blamed Doctor Drew Devlin’s death on me. And I’ve paid the price for loving the wrong man.

Now, I have dark circles under my eyes because I can’t sleep at night. I lost everything–friends, family, my home and even my freedom. Drew’s devious wife Fern tore my whole world apart. And she thinks she’s got away with murder.

But she’s wrong. It’s time for revenge. For myself… and for my baby.

Her new life on the windswept Cornish coast is about to come crashing down around her. I’m determined for everyone to find out the true story. Because now it’s not just my life in danger, I’ve got to protect the doctor’s daughter too.

I know Fern will expect me to come after her–I’m certain she will have her own plan in place to stop me. After all, she’s duped so many people before.

But then again, Fern always did underestimate me. And by the time she realizes, it’ll be far too late for the doctor’s wife…

An absolutely addictive psychological thriller with twist after twist from the number one bestselling author of The Doctor’s Wife. If you loved Behind Closed Doors, Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train then The Doctor’s Mistress will keep you listening long into the night!

Addictive listening

4.5 stars

What a lovely treat to get this 3rd installment of the Doctor's series from DH, via Bookouture Audio on Netgalley.

Absolutely gripping series, really twisty and well plotted, narrated perfectly again too. I loved the way it's been left, I hope there's a 4th book I need another fix, this series is addictive!

Good if implausible conclusion

Enjoyed the story. Whilst the conclusion was pretty implausible and a little unsatisfactory I still enjoyed the story

This one helped to tie up the series .. Enjoyable even though a bit far-fetched! Not great narration voice but overall a good listen

What a twist!

I don’t know why but I’m happy with the way it ends. Another great thriller from the author!

disappointed again..sorry

DH is one of my favourite writers, and I look forward and enjoy all of his work, however, this one not so much! enjoyed the first book in this series, struggled with the second, and am totally lost and uninterested with this one. part of this I'd because I can't remember who is who, who did what, and who is living where and who is after revenge! it's all a bit lame and boring and I can't even be bothered to look back and update myself! I have skipped this book back so many times just to see if I can make sense of it and I still can't...shame because as soon as I saw it released i was looking forward to it! should have stopped at the first one!

Great storyline, narration and characters!

I’ve enjoyed this trilogy so much, following the characters and their lives! It’s an easy must read/listen.

Brilliant conclusion to a riveting trilogy

I’ve absolutely loved every book in this trilogy and the final one didn’t disappoint. Daniel Hurst has become my favourite author … roll on credit day!

What a let down!

Having read the previous two books I was looking forward to this one. But it is awful. Most of it is just recapping the previous plots and the ending is so unbelivable. Even the reader sounds bored stiff with the lack of storyline and meaning.
I am quite angry that the author would think this is worth anyone's time or money. Also an insult to reader's intelligence that he would come up with such an implausable ending.

Not the best

Listened to all 3 books,
And this one wasn't the best. Narrator was trying to be both women's voices and it was very confusing who was who As voices were the same.. This story could have been wrapped up In book 2 as most of book 3 was repeated lines from book 2.. Storyline not plausible at all so far fetched.

Mr Hurst is surely more capable of this ?

So disappointed. I was expecting so much more. I actually got bored and struggled to finish while doing the ironing What a shame. What a missed opportunity as a top paid Author. You'll lose your fans if this is what to be expected.
