Summary

They’ll do anything to get out. She’ll do anything to keep them in.

When happily married Grace comes home early one night and catches her husband, Dominic, with another woman in the cabin at the bottom of their garden, she is shocked, angry, and most of all, hell-bent on revenge. That’s why she acts quickly, locking the pair in the cabin while she decides what she wants to do to them.

While Dominic and his mistress desperately try to get free, Grace makes a plan on the outside, but it’s a plan that is formed based on her previous experiences. That’s because this might not be the first time Grace has done something like this....

Who is the real villain? The cheating husband? Or the vengeful wife?

The new psychological thriller from the best-selling author of The Intruder, Til Death Do Us Part, and We Used to Live Here.

Highly Recommended

“The Couple in the Cabin” is an excellently twisted, absorbing and gripping thriller I completed within 24 hours! I listened to the audiobook format, but I am confident the physical or digital book would be just as flawless!

The narration is performed brilliantly, bringing Grace and Dominic to life through alternative chapters. It was enlightening to see things from both characters' perspectives. During the first half of the story, I loathed Dominic and his selfish ways of looking at everything that had happened, but my opinion differed by the conclusion and the big reveal that had taken place. Grace is complex, and her actions are often morally wrong but fueled by emotions. I felt sorry for her more than anything.

This would make a great book club read and is perfect for fans of Daniel Hurst or this genre.

Absolutely crackers, far fetched and predictable

I saw heard this out to the end but it was an effort,
I think the narrators did a stunning job considering what they were given to work with and I think by now, it's fair to say, I'm not a massive Daniel Hurst fan. This is the second of his novels I've listened to. (on this occasion, I was giving him a second chance). I don't think there will be a third chance.

Loved this twisty book

Yes you have to suspend disbelief. but I didn’t care, for me it was pure entertainment. I don’t know where these bullet/sound/ proof cabins would be made, especially the one from years ago. However, I just went along with the ride and glad I did.

Gripping from start to finish!

4.5 happy stars for me.

What a rollercoaster that was!
All of the characters including the nosey neighbours brought colour to the story. Fast paced, with some really interesting points made and views expressed. I learnt a few things!!

I haven't read or listened to any of this authors books previously, but I'll definitely be looking out for more of them. Sometimes it's worth being late to a party, because now I've got a heap of new to me books to read!

Great narrators too.

Absolutely superb. Listen in one sitting!

OMG.
So when I read The Intruder by Daniel Hurst, I declared that my new favourite of his books. Until I listened to The Couple in the Cabin.
This was utterly superb.
A good audiobook to me keeps the listeners clinging on to every word, has a great narrator(s) with a plot that keeps you interested and listening at every opportunity.
Audiobooks like this are hard to come by. This one does all of those things and more. The kind that had I not been working I would have listened in one sitting.
The plot is just nonstop, so thrilling and so full of twists I couldn't foresee the ending.
The characters are amazing, so well thought out the narrators did a wonderful job of bringing them to life.
Highly recommended.
