Summary

There's trouble in paradise...or is it murder? The third explosive Matt Standing thriller from the bestselling author of the Spider Shepherd series.

The SAS are used to deaths during combat—it goes with the turf.

But when one of their own is said to have committed suicide in Thailand, red flags are raised.

Pete Green wasn't the sort of soldier who would ever take his own life—and no one is more sure of that than his twin brother, Davie.

Davie is determined to fly to the Land Of Smiles to find out what really happened to his twin brother. But if he is going to find out the truth he'll need help—the sort of help only SAS Sergeant Matt Standing can provide.

But soon after they arrive they come under attack, leaving Standing to investigate on his own. There are clearly people who want to shut down all enquiries and Standing knows he will have to use all his SAS jungle skills to survive. This will be the toughest of assignments but nothing will come between him and the truth...

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!

Fantastic story, couldn't stop listening, the story again is brilliant. I unfortunately have started mid Matt Standing series but now looking to fill in the gaps with Matt & Spider Shepherd. Stephen Leather is now one of my 2 favourite Authors. Again the narration is excellent, really draws in your senses.

lex and standing, doing what spider should

Great book, loved the setting. unusually long and slow start, although well written and enjoyable. woth Great cast and location. Paul always reads with a panache that brings this type of book to life. Harper and Standing doing the things you always wished spider would do, but for some reason always goes too soft.... Good ending. but. wpuod of been better with more action through out

Another action packed hit

A book that grabs you from the get go and don't release its grip until the end.

Only downside is apparently every gun he picks up is a carbine!

I’m a solider and it felt very real to me

Like most of his books they feel very real so it’s easy to get swept up with the drama I ended up saying up for hours just to here a bit more I can’t wait for the next book

Tough lessons

Very interesting insights into Thailand life and how such different realities exist alongside each other.
