Publisher's Summary

Devon Sanders, a private investigator known for his efficiency and discretion, has no interest in getting involved with the paranormal community. Unfortunately for him, the paranormal community does have an interest in him, or at least in his secret.

Dark Waters (Book 1)

When Devon uncovers a violent murder, he knows it is not a natural crime. In order to solve this case and expose the murderer, he will have to go undercover as a wizard in the paranormal university, Quintessence. He soon discovers that his talent has more to do with supernatural forces than he ever knew.

Hungry Earth (Book 2)

When a student dies of no apparent cause, the search for a witness leads Devon to discover there are more secrets buried under Quintessence than he ever realized. In order to save the paranormal world he is now part of, he will face an enemy that can use his own power against him. Devon must rely on more than his exceptional intuition to solve this case.

Magic is elemental.

    "Great book start to finish"

Good book well narrated and good paced storyline. Worth a listen might seem little tame and therefore more teenage read but l enjoyed the story at aged 45 so give it a go

A fantastic listen. This story covers a tremendous amount of ground with vampires, wizards, faerie, dragons, medieval, etc... The narrator does a perfect job, can't imagine anyone else doing this character. This is a long story with lots of twist and turns, a likable cast, and an imperfect main character. Can't wait for the next book!

    "Great series!"

Over seventeen hours of fun! This book has everything! Humor, horror, romance, action, magic, vampires and mythical creatures. I did think it was going to be an adult Harry Potter when he started describing the university, but I'm glad I kept listening. It's not actually anything like Harry Potter other than the magic. I've read Harry Potter rip-offs, and this isn't one. It's very well written and creative. There are wizards, vampires, shifters, and fae. The narrator did a great job with the many different characters. I look forward to the next book!

    "Wish more were available"

I just finished this and normally I like to think a little more on the book. However I was extremely happy with the universe that Rain Oxford has created. The story moved well and I was never bored. The only thing I did not like was that the pace of the narration sometimes did not allow me to enjoy the wit built in to the story. I found myself laughing or having my own inner dialogue on the characters only to have to rewind because I missed something. When James Marsters reads a book I feel
Like I have time to enjoy the story, this was just a little to fast. Don't get me wrong the narrator did a phenomenal job, and you will enjoy his telling of the story.
I look forward to books three through five making it to audible.

    "Loving This Series!"

Great Characters, and I like that the tone of the book doesn't take itself too seriously.
I see there are 5 books out in print so get busy recording Mr. Menesses!

    "I am Hooked!"

I really got caught up in the story. It is also set in a school for students with special powers. In my opinion this is what Hogwarts would be like if it were a college. I enjoyed the story line and the relationships that form between the roommates during the story. I hope someone is recording the installments 3 and 4. I cannot wait to listen to them. Rain you have a fan!

Loved it! Very unexpected but could not stop listening. Todd was fantastic with an unbelievable repertoire of very distinctive and appropriate voices!
Cannot wait for the rest of the series to be narrated!

Totally enjoyed this. Noticed some silly person said the narrator was terrible. This is nonsense. He suited the story absolutely perfectly. All elements of the story were enjoyable.
