Brilliant!
What made the experience of listening to Mindfulness for Beginners the most enjoyable?
I've been "fiddling around" with mindfulness for some years. Dipping in and out, but never really getting into it properly. This book has made all the difference. Being the originator of Mindfulness, I guess it's only to be expected that Jon Kabat-Zinn knows his stuff, but what is so great is the very simple and relaxed way in which he explains it.Finally I've begun to practice Mindfulness!
I totally recommend this for anybody new to Mindfulness, or who has struggled to get into it.
Any additional comments?
One other thing of note is that Jon has such a great voice, I could listen to him all day. Shame this book's so short!

Peace ar last!
I didn't know life could get better! My soul yearned for confirmation that 'less is more.' I'm simply amazed, no 'rocketed to the 5th dimension' with this stuff. To live a life conscious of the moment, purposefully , slowly and serenely is all I've ever wanted and this book teaches me how in the simplest of terms. Like, right here, right now stuff, like 'begin where you are stuff, NOW. No thinking necessary 'just be the person/thing that you seek, right now. Thank you Jon and every other teacher of this way of being, thank you.

Excellent
A gentle introduction to mindfulness with a non-intrusive tone of voice. Jon Kabat-Zinn has perfected his approach in this recording of guided meditation and provides an excellent and peaceful guide towards the practice of mindfulness.

Not the best Mindfulness Audio
Would you try another book written by Jon Kabat-Zinn or narrated by Jon Kabat-Zinn?
No
Would you ever listen to anything by Jon Kabat-Zinn again?
No - very grating, slow voice as if he's trying to seduce you! Yes you want a calm voice for mediating, but this was not listenable!
Any additional comments?
Only lasted an hour and it just seemed to grate on. I either lost the message or didn't find one on mindfulness, some much better options out there - HeadSpace and Practical Guide to Mindfulness

Puts you to sleep
While this author is credited with bringing mindfulness to the West, he really isn't the best to give an audible description of it. The first half of this work consists of a description of the purpose and nature of mindfulness meditation, but seems to fail to do that. The author ponders around the subject with no sense of direction and long sentences which change the subject multiple times, making it very difficult to follow what he is talking about. The effect is something that seems more like streams of consciousness than a quality book. It is great if you have sleeping difficulties. I counted the words in a couple of random sentences one was 25 words and another was 32 which demonstrates the poor quality of the use of English to communicate. This author really struggled to get to the point and make a point so his audience understand what is a complete unit of communication. Instead he leaves his audience with vague impressions of what his opinions might be. He doesn't seem very mindful in describing his subject and it would take a Master of Mindfulness to follow.
The second session in the recording is recorded like a leading meditation. I found being talked to in this way while I was meditating very distracting from the present moment and it kept leading me away from being mindful. Get any other book on Mindfulness. This was recommended to me a long time ago and frankly it wasn't helpful as a first book on Mindfulness or for someone now deeply steeped in meditation.
