Renowned for the beauty and simplicity of his teachings, Ajahn Chah was Thailand's best-known meditation teacher. His charisma and wisdom influenced many American and European seekers, and helped shape the American Vipassana community.
This collection brings together for the first time Ajahn Chah's most powerful teachings, including those on meditation, liberation from suffering, calming the mind, enlightenment and the "living dhamma". Most of these talks have previously only been available in limited, private editions and the publication of Food for the Heart, therefore, represents a momentous occasion: the hugely increased accessibility of his words and wisdom.
Western teachers such as Ram Dass and Jack Kornfield have extolled Chah's teachings for years, and now listeners can experience them directly in this book.

Good or bad, One's "Perception" often affects his/her own life experience.
I always prefer brittish narrator, a very insight into the monastic lives of Buddhist monks
"You Don't Need to be a Buddhist to Understand Him"
I have been a Buddhist most of my life. I didn't meet Ajahn Chah while he was alive. I don't know Thai. I am listening his words from a translation, yet I can see how easy he communicated things, feel how uncluttered his mind was.
If you are not a Buddhist, this book will help you to understand what Buddhism is about. If you are just at the beginning your practice, his words will address many of your confusions. If you are deep into your practice, he'll clear the sky for you. It really is food for all hearts.
Graeme Malcolm's narration is very good. He is neither monotone nor overexcited. Overall I am recommending this audiobook for all listeners.
"this is a book you must read"
I would not call it a primer book but it is a book that helps clarify on the personal level many teachings regarding the practice. do not hesitate. get this book
"I am grateful to have happened upon this audiobook"
one of the most consistently impactful collections of talks on the matter. such insight and ability to teach to aid others in getting to the heart of the subject, making it personal.
"Insightful with a bit of humor"
Nearly every chapter was very helpful. Ajahn Chah was immensely insightful and this book is an easy way to gain the wisdom he shared.
