Food for Thought

Well narrated and a fascinating text. It works as a sound foundation to build on by reading the book.

Simply wonderful

A wonderfully written book full of insight. I do feel, however, that one has to be at the right point in their life to properly appreciate and absorb the teachings.

So much value

The depth of knowledge contained in this book is vast. I've listened to it 3 times and each listen through I get something new out of it. I can see myself listening to this 10 times!

For those looking for straight Dhamma without the "content" of the speaker's neurotic and rambling stories this is highly recommended.

Difficult but profound

I found this the most difficult of the books by Thich Naht Hahn but well worth the effort. The narration however is disappointing. The narrator has a nasal intonation and for example pronounces water as ‘wordr’. This can be distracting. But the underlying messages are amazingly relevant despite being so ancient.

Not a religion person

Excellent description of Gautama Buddhas teaching without the religious layers added. Very interesting guide to a new philosophy for me and how it can be learned and practiced in everyday life. This has really helped through this pandemic. The metaphors and short stories really help guide your understanding and draw your focus on the persuit of happiness

Beautiful Wisdom but badly read

I had to really concentrate to get the depth of Thich Nhat Hahn’s wisdom because the narrator’s voice is so drab - Rene Ruiz is just reciting words like a schoolboy. It’s unlikely he has any actual devotional feeling about their content.
