Summary

My name is Tess Owens, and my life is officially on fire. I never thought dancing at my best friend's wedding would be the match to light the flames. But with one lingering touch, one longing look . . . and one sneaky caterer holding a camera phone, my almost ex-husband is ready to torch my entire life.

Unwilling to face the heat, I do what I do best: I run. Straight into the arms of Rachel and her team of NHL hockey players. One player stands apart from the rest. Jacksonville Rays star forward Ryan Langley is out with an injury. I get the surprise of my life when he shows up at my door, declaring himself my roommate.

Now I have six weeks to launch a new business. Six weeks to fight for my freedom . . . all while fighting my growing attraction to this All-American sweetheart. Did I mention he's ten years younger than me?

I want to believe him when he says age is just a number. I want to believe that our pasts don't define us forever. But first I have to stop running. With one innocent dance, Ryan Langley helped me start this fire. What if we're meant to fan these flames? What if, together, we're meant to burn?

Contains mature themes.

Tess & Ryan were everything that I wanted!

Now we all know how I feel about Hockey and Pucking Wild was one of my most anticipated releases for this year. I absolutely fell in love with this found family and couldn’t wait for the Tess & Ryans story.

After photos are released from the #teamprice not so secrete wedding, Tess’ soon to be ex-husband decides to make her life a living nightmare - I think we can all agree that he who shall not be named can go to hell. Tess’ trauma really impacts her reaction to a number of situations in this book and at times it did make her come across as a little childish but I can see why. Although she is meant to be a top notch lawyer when it comes to her own situation, she really struggles to see things rationally and her gut instinct in to run. Ryan on the other hand has an emotional maturity about him that doesn’t always tally up with his age but you could argue that he had to grow up quickly and he knows what he wants. Not everyone is lucky enough to find that in a partner.

Tess’ and Ryans outlook on s3x and body positivity is refreshing to see and I really enjoyed how this was explored and translated into their relationship - those spicy scenes carry some heat! Ryan officially gets a spot on the book boyfriend list because he is chef’s kiss! His characterisation in this book was something that Emily absolutely nailed and I want all the bonus content from him! His constant support, golden retriever energy and maturity that he brought to table was exactly what Tess needed.

All of your favs from Pucking Around feature and I particularly enjoyed the friendship between Tess and Mars around the development of his non-profit. Mars as always manages to convey the most while saying the least.

The epilogue of the book is what really pushed me over - I absolutely adored it!!

Alex and Amy did an excellent job of bringing Tess and Ryan to life!

Loved this

This hockey romance was great. Tess is trying to survive her horrible abusive ex husband, trying to rebuild her self and confidence. She builds her self up with the help of friendship and unwavering love. I loved this book! Had my laughing and smiling. Her me tearing up at moments to some heartfelt moments. Ryan is the definition of best book boyfriend. And the spicy well damn it do be spicy 😜Most of all I loved that ending had my smiling like a damn fool and the retribution was 👌🏻 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

New to me author

A spicy reverse age gap hockey romance.

Tess and Ryan's story is alternately frustrating and sweet.

Just a tad too long imo.
